LocationThe workshop will take place at the SuperSTEM facility at STFC Daresbury Laboratories in Daresbury. The Daresbury Laboratories are situated between Manchester and Liverpool, about an half hour drive from either airport, and are located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside flanked by woodland and with the Bridgewater Canal running alongside. AccomodationAccomodation for the participants of the workshop will be at the DeVere Daresbury Park Hotel which is about 1 mile from the Daresbury Laboratories and the SuperSTEM facility and is just off junction 11 of the M56. Please do not arrange your own accomodation as this will be arranged at special rates during registration. Travel between the accomodation and the SuperSTEM facility will be arranged for the days of the workshop (Fri (day of the summer school), Sat, Sun, Mon). Daresbury is about 5 miles from Warrington and Runcorn, the two largest
towns in the locality. by train There
are two stations in Warrington, Warrington Bank Quay
and Warrington Central, which together provide
many inter-city train
connections . by airplane Regional airports are the Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester International Airport . Both are ~30-40 mins by car from the laboratory. Taxi and train services (to Warrington Central) are also available. If you are travelling to any of the London airports the easiest way to commute is to take the train to Warrington Bank Quay from London Euston. To get to Euston station you may use the London Underground or express trains to Central London (i.e. Paddington/ Victoria train stations from Heathrow / Gatwick airports respectively). |
